Miho, flat panel...
Familiar looks on too?
How intruiging.

Ancient rites blend with
latest technology. This
queen knows both worlds well.

"We can rebuild her!"
That should strike fear in Piro
for the sake of Ping.

Piro mustn't let
Largo anywhere near to Ping
Not broke? Don't fix it!

"Gentlemen, we can
Rebuild her." Stronger, faster,
Perhaps; but better?

(So, had it occurred
To anyone that she knew them
From IRC?)

[haiku]

i see the haikus
still abound in these forums.
boy, that's good to know.

i still read mt,
i've just neglected the boards.
i thought i'd stop by.

it occurred to me
miho knows the boys via
the internet, but then

that is obvious.
less obvious might be that she
knows our boys from quake?

i don't understand
how you inferred "irc"
as the connection.

largo knows her styl3.
"pur3 3v1l," he recogniz3d.
miho knows him, too.

(neko's score is 1,
the fly's score 0, poor thing.
ph34r m4 sw4tting skillz!! )

kicking ass at quake
is something piro can do.
she knows him as well.

from whence we don't know,
but as the two play quake, and
miho "haunts" arcade,

one assumes she games.
since she knows piro, largo,
you'd think that she plays quake.

[/haiku]

or something. tongue.gif sorry for the repetition, it's hard fitting the words into the syllables

Spiky queen looks good
like a spider in her web -
watching her flat screen

Anyone recognize
what's on her screen now? Is it
Quake or MT?

Black cat watches her,
Pet of witches and villains -
Can't sit on her lap

I think the mundane
"she knows them from Quake, online"
is probably right.

But how 'bout something
just a little more baroque?
What if she's a witch?

To quote a recent
poster: "She has the FREAKIN'
NECROWOMBICON!"

Summoner of geeks.
Opener of wierd portals.
Gaijin conjurer.

At least from her point
of view. Does she have her own
reality too?

[!haiku]
A thought has struck me, lending fresh potential depth to the ongoing revelation. Apologies if this seems obvious...
[/!haiku]

Now I think of it,
In the last strip from Wednesday,
She calls Piro "kun"...!

Not the address-form
I'd have used for someone new,
Older than myself!

This leads me to think
She not only knows them both
From online or not,

But thinks of Piro
As something of an equal,
In whatever sense.

Quake seems most likely
With the little that we know.
That implies she's good!

*She* implied she is
by requiring GTL
to vanquish Ping *first*.

And her 5k1llz are broad,
she let Largo pick the game.
THAT is confidence!

I'll explain briefly:
I needed three syllables
Worth of connection. happy.gif;;

Striped socks in gentle breeze
Winter isn't here quite yet;
Clotheslines dry stockings.

((I don't know why this occured to me.))

That fuzzy thing there.
A witch's familiar?
Its smile looks 3vil.

If Piro where there,
what would Miho's pet look like?
Kawaii kitten?

Largo's perspective:
hell-spawned imp? Malevolent
demi-demonette?

Well, sometimes a cat
is just a cat...but what fun
hypothesizing.

Crickets are calling.
Fathers carry their children
piggy-back to bed.

Posted by: Phaedrus Oct 12 2001, 09:09 AM
"We can rebuild her".
Like that Athlon chip? Ping needs
her magic blue smoke.

Posted by: Vaevictis Oct 12 2001, 11:02 PM
The battle over
Largo standing on crutches
Ping's batteries drained

Largo senses that
He has felt Miho's presence
Some time in the past

It's time to go home
For the exhausted comrades
To Megagamers!

Miho comtemplates:
Piro, not as imagined
Largo, exactly

Chrysallis of sleep.
Another game played, she dreams.
What butterfly comes?

Edit: Dadgummit!
Used the same darn word two times.
Fool and his keyboard

Necrowombicon,
dark tome of unknown secrets,
dark-side boo behind?

Miho and Piro,
equals? Would Miho posess
a case worker too?

Posted by: Traks Oct 12 2001, 12:33 PM
Hmmm, I just don't know.
I feel as if something has
reached its conclusion.

...

I am a little
disappointed in regards to
our cute friend Miho.

Perhaps because I
found "Queen of Evil" to be
more fun than "Queen Geek."

the events that take place here
if i could only see

Mayhaps our Miho
Knows Piro and Largo through
Piroart dot net?

Arigato! (*blush*)

I think I know that reference
but I'm forty-two.

Did syndication
bring six million dollar men
to younger fanboys?

Our dirty little
secret: many of us here
are north of forty.

If when queried, you
must do a calculation,
you are getting on.

My HP-15
says I'm forty six years old.
How did that happen?

Oft-times, some I know
Like to quote their age in Hex.
Makes me 17...

While good for some it may be
Makes my age be F

[!haiku]With a handle like "Goldfish the Indefenestratable", I'm guessing "the Defenestration of Stephen" is no mystery to you.[!haiku]

"North of forty," yeah...
Sunday I turn forty-four.
New name: Jiji-san.

<correction limerick>
This thread I don't mean to dismember,
Yet the proper hex I now remember,
I am not just fifteen
nor old but between
I'll be 'leven in hex this November.

I must admit that
I've snapped my share of whippers
At my elders here

The quote is known to
Me mostly through cultural
Osmosis, I think

(Though I am aware
Of the source, and plan even
To see it one day)

A favorite of
mine: The Defenestration
of Ermintrude Inch

[!haiku]
From Tales of the White Hart, Arthur C. Clarke.
Out of print, but you can still find copies.

UBB has got me foxed.
Let's see if this works...
