Ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha...Silly Largo.
Hair fires are for kids.

Posted by: Civilian Oct 10 2001, 06:05 AM
Am i wrong?
Or is it the first time
we've seen Miho smile?

Previous panel features
a confused looking girl.
Does Miho need a hug?

Posted by: Phaedrus Oct 10 2001, 06:10 AM
The world just shifted -
innocent smile on Miho.
My mind has whiplash.

Posted by: Phaedrus Oct 10 2001, 06:14 AM
She's near Piro now.
A world of solipsism:
now his dreams rule her.

Posted by: Phaedrus Oct 10 2001, 06:15 AM
Ok, it's my turn:
This is the best strip ever.
It had to be said.

Miho smiles...sweetly
Does this bode well for Piro?
Ph34r her Piro ...PH34R

Posted by: Phaedrus Oct 10 2001, 06:20 AM
Miho is caught in
that moment of transition.
Confusion, then smile.

Posted by: Traks Oct 10 2001, 06:22 AM
What's with panel 2?
I myself can't quite define
Piro's expression.

Posted by: Echo Oct 10 2001, 06:23 AM
I'm a bit unsure;
something happened in her eyes...
did you hear a 'click'?

I've learned over time
that when emotions flip-flop...
be very wary.

Am I wrong to feel
there's more going on behind
those eyes than she shows?

Hunter-prey instinct
perhaps? The odd crawl of eyes
one might feel when watched?

Posted by: Traks Oct 10 2001, 06:32 AM
Hunter-prey instinct?
I doubt it. It looks more like
a look of concern.

Posted by: Echo Oct 10 2001, 06:35 AM
Heh! Well, I would say
that should indicate to you
which one is the prey...

Echo - think you're right.
That was a mental gear-shift,
There in panel 5!

Perhaps Miho needs
A Mode Indicator too,
Like Ping-chan's earpiece?

Posted by: jamboy Oct 10 2001, 06:45 AM
Like the shifting sands,
Miho's personality
Flows; belies her depth.

Blossom on the waves
Of life's capricious river,
Washed this way and that.

Mental quantum state:
Two Mihos, gestalt, both true,
Single when observed.

A smoking arcade
broken Largo stumbles out -
Smell of hair burning

Pensive schoolgirl face
gentle smile flashes cutely -
Sound of heart breaking

[non-MT]
A Nipponese grave
haiku master buried here -
Sound of Basho turning
[/non-MT]

Posted by: Echo Oct 10 2001, 07:07 AM
I get the same smile
assembling jigsaw puzzles.
So that's how it fits!

Posted by: jamboy Oct 10 2001, 07:09 AM
An innocent smile,
A bewitching backward glance,
A promised return.

Posted by: jamboy Oct 10 2001, 07:20 AM
Until recently
I was a Kimiko man
And, well, that was that.

Now these last few strips
I find myself more and more
In the Dark Queen's thrall.

I will gladly go,
Under one small condition:
Please don't make me rave!

[non-haiku]
Something, it seems, has stimulated my Haiku-lobes. Haven't spouted this much in some time - oh well, I'll just enjoy it while it lasts.

It probably has something to do with the strips we've been having recently, which have been exceptionally good in a number of ways IMHO. Keep it up Fred and Rodney!

Piro bashes Largo
Contemplates leaving the fool
To fend for himself

Miho overhears
So, this is 'Piro', Ping's friend
Smiles, kawaii!

"Do I know her?" Hmm...
Cute girl smiled at me, wai!
Largo's L33T sense flames...

Posted by: smurd Oct 10 2001, 07:37 AM
[!haiku]Meister Eduard: Good one, that's the spirit!!

Phaedrus: J'ai d'accord avec vous absolutement!
[/!haiku]

How to finish Rime?
A quandary... yin and yang
all within herself.

She is "attractive,"
more than ever -- more like
a Monster Magnet!

Posted by: Northwind Oct 10 2001, 07:38 AM
Miho and Piro
Meet at last, and, shockingly,
Her ice is melted.

Is it possible
That Miho finds Piro cute?
I believe it is.

Miho, Kimiko,
Yuki...I think Piro's got
Akito syndrome.

<PROSE> Nadesico reference, people! Come on! </PROSE>

Posted by: Glump Oct 10 2001, 08:13 AM
I would like to write
Something clever and profound
About today's strip

But instead I'll just
Sit here flabbergasted by
Miho's smiling face

I agree with friend
Phaedrus; Piro has surely
Surpassed himself here

Posted by: squee Oct 10 2001, 08:33 AM
Miho's smile, like wind,
in seventeen syllables
cannot be described.

Should piro succumb
to the cute smile of Miho's
new epiphany?

Largo, I do wish
you would let lonely Piro
talk with cute Miho.

Miho otakus
Are rioting the cities,
Gone crazed at her smile...

Miho is evil,
but not moreso than any
other teen girl.

Or so it would seem.
So hard to wait for the next

Who could forget 'em?
However, I hardly count
fart-flares as pleasure.

Oh, we did get it.
Poor Akito, Piro:
So many cute girls

And nary a clue
as to what to do. (What's on
Gekiganger now?)

Posted by: Northwind Oct 10 2001, 05:01 PM
Am I mistaken,
Or are 133t-d00d and Largo
Immune to Miho?

There she stood, smiling,
Beautiful as the night sky,
And they just stood there.

Then again, of course,
I guess it's quite difficult
To notice such things

When your hair's aflame.
And to smurd, I can but say:
"Gai Super Upper!"

when you start talking quantum

A smile is observed;
her wave function collapsing.
Psi* of contentment.

* Jamboy will get this.
Other folks, see: Schrodinger's
Quantum Equation.

This is always true:
H psi equal to E psi
It's tough to solve, though.

No spoilers there, please...
I just bought the whole series;
Shall watch this weekend.

Ah! That reminds me!
Smurd - you will be pleased to note,
Totoro is out!

(I refer, of course,
To the Ghibli DVDs.
As usual: Great!)

Me for just a second there...

Then my defenses.

Miho is having
one of those Ping-chan moments.
New data. Mode shift.

Posted by: Northwind Oct 10 2001, 05:43 PM
Are you suggesting
That Miho is robotic
As well as Ping-chan?

While I know you weren't
I just wanted to give rise
To specualtion.

And you must admit
That WOULD be a cool plot twist.
Miho-EDS!

EDIT: UBB
hates me, I swear. I can't seem
To do it right. Bah.

Not literally.
Her reality shift is
like Ping-chan's mode shift.

Even her cute smile
mirrors Ping-chan's, settling
into a new role.

Posted by: Traks Oct 10 2001, 06:17 PM
I just noticed, but
first she makes with the English
then the Nihongo.

[Edit:]
Also, she once read
the English on Kimiko's
shirt, then spoke English.

When spoken to in
Japanese, though, her response
is in Japanese.

"l33t senses tingling"
Though aflame, detects 3vi1.
"Piro... In danger"

Largo comes crawling,
ready to defend Piro
from the darkly cute.

Be warned; the lesson
learned from PiroQuake
fits Miho as well:

"The more innocent
you look, the more surprised they
are when you ownz them"

Remember Irish
Spring

I will paraphrase:

"Miho's Smile™: dangerous, yes!
But I like it too."

(Like Unlucky Charms™:
"They're tragically malicious!"
O.K., I'll stop now.)
