An old friend visits
Fred; he fondly shares with us
that feeling of Warmth.

Haiku are so cool,
they let me express myself
in the way I need.

Suspense slowly builds,
we wait for the aftermath
of ping and largo's fight.

Fog on the highways...
colder days are here. We think
of dreams set aside.

Wow. Echo, that was beautiful. Classic haiku that would stand on its own independent of today's strip.

Frost painted garden;
snows come soon. But Saeko
has melted my heart.

I agree, Phaedrus,
few things spread warm-fuzzies like
a girl with mittens!

Thank you I just got the same feeling from today's strip and rant as I got from the drive in to work last week through banks of fog. Kinda sad and wistful, and a little bit alone.

edit: though that will all be remedied when my st31n arrives!

The snow brings silence
Of haunted depth; the footprints
Of a young lady

Give brief homage to
Her passing. She is in snow
But is that sadness?

The sky weeps beauty
As I'm arrested for a
Moment by her eyes

I, too, was rather affected by Echo's haiku masterwork; it put me in a wistful, contemplative mood (always something I enjoy), which after a few hours of musing I have worked to transmute to relevant haiku as well as I can above. Well done, sir.

To make a tangent
The haiku archives now hold
Thirty six pages!

That's legitimate
Threads; I'm not counting index
And stuff of that sort

It's not really that
Important, I just hadn't
Realized their size

And I wanted to
Say something like, "Woo!" (Phaedrus,
we've done eighteen each!)

Darn, no new MT.
Another day for wandering
the halls of my mind.

Posted by: Glump Oct 8 2001, 01:04 PM
I didn't notice
At first that Piro used the
Word, "Irascible"

I love to see a
Vocabulary put to
Use with such deftness

Though actually
I just like that word. Try it!
Ain't it fun to say?

Instead of MT,
We view an old storyline.
Come, and feel the Warmth...

Dance Under The Moon.
It brings back sad memories.
Sad plot line in snow.

A game show concept:
Win Erika Stein's Money.
The prize? M0r3 fr33 b33r!

Immutable season,
winter sends its softest snows
for those in Sendai.

Sweetest murmurings,
autumn leaves us together,
embracing for warmth.

[/haiku]Just for fun, a santa haiku[haiku]
Dashing through the snow
on a one-horse open sleigh
oh what fun to ride.

[edit: silly browser doesn't know a haiku from a sneezebarf]

why the existance
the pain of life unbearable
yet we will still live

death; final release
sleeping now forevermore
on to death, we will

White sun, shine coldly
On faces in a small place
We're all important

Bedtime stories told
Of fairies and magic things
Where are the small things?

A snowflake drifts down
Through grayish skies; it lands
Among its brothers

A single snowflake
Has its tale told; ev'rything
Makes a difference

((Non-haiku; I can't seem to wrap up "there are no insignificant stories" too well . . . egh . . .))

Fall brings pleasant cool.
You don't need snow for romance,
leaves of gold will do

Posted by: kiddwizz Oct 9 2001, 12:16 PM
Piro was looking
for a webcomic to make
Warmth just would not do...

along came, what else?
Megatokyo! woohoo!
turned out to be great!
