feelings cause damage,
and emotions, destruction;
cynicism saves?

For Largo, there seems little doubt,
That his cred with the girl just went south,
And the sword wound he had
Won't hurt nearly as bad
As the foot that he stuck in his mouth.

Hey Largo, are you keepin' score?
'Cuz Erika looks pretty sore!
If it's damage and pain
And destruction you gain
From emotions, you're gonna get more!

Death and Destruction
Can never be satisfied
Such is emotion

j0 jadow, I see you're new here,
So sit down and lend me an ear:
You should know it is true
That the threads for haiku
Are places where verse should appear! happy.gif

Welcome to the forums, jadow. In case you didn't already know, these are the haiku threads - there's usually one started for each new comic Fred posts, just like the main discussion thread. The custom here is to comment on the comic in haiku (the basic form is 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third), or in any other short verse form that pleases you. I'm glad you enjoyed my verses, but please don't post in these threads just to say so ('less, of course you do it in verse!). Having said that, I hope to see you posting your own comments in verse soon. Hope you have fun here.^^

Empathy missing
replaced by stupidity
will earn a thrashing.

Love leads to hatred
And feelings to suffering?
Largo's no Jedi.

Irony abounds
when feelings are scorned by the
most emotional.

Japanese culture
calls emotions 'wet logic'
contrasted with the 'dry'.

Wet logic unchecked
follows impulse. Unchecked, it
will set loose all ruin

in the cutting word,
the careless theft, the heedless sin
and the deed of blood.

Thus the dry logic
we inherited from Greece
does deserve our praise.

It's a good shield
for all we love. That said, Love
is still wet logic.

So it's dry logic
that reminds us why Logos
that is wet is needed.
