The dust has settled
nearly everything normal
and then...something wrong.

Great chill in the air
as the warrior revives.
Searching.. for the truth.

outside on the street
the sun sheds warmth and brightness,
but indoors it snows.

As a young man reflects, all unknowing
Of the sadness his words have been sowing,
The skies outside there
May be sunny and fair,
But somewhere nearby, it is snowing.

There’s this guy, and his name’s Kobayashi,
And it certainly would not surprise me
If his surname’s Maru(1),
For the quest he pursues
Is a no-win scenario, likely.

(1)well used reference
from star trek: the wrath of khan;
i bet you knew that.^^

that my "haiku legacy"
has not died away...

Her eyes pleading
The floor littered with the shards
Of her shattered dreams.

Solemn inquiry
Her voice like a requiem
She already knows.

I never imagined it possible to see,
sadness stir beneath the purple sea;
never thought my heart'd be drowned,
in sorrow's pit, dark and profound,
by what was once its source of glee.

Sit by me, child;
snatch from the claws of the past your pretty smile.
It can't be mild,
to suffer alone when your heart faces its first trial,
but when you smiled,
we were beguiled.

I stand by you as you face the storm,
but I can't shield you from its force;
I watch your light so bright and warm,
getting eroded, by a world too coarse,
for someone who can really feel.
Your problem is you're too real.
I can't help, just watch fate perform,
and helplessly wallow in my own remorse.

Can you hear my voice?
Can you hear my bleeding fists banging the fourth wall,
hoping to have the choice,
to break it, step in; to release you from your thrall,
and help you to rejoice.

Beause... perhaps,
once again you might have shone,
and I'd not collapse,
if you knew, dear girl, you're not alone.
