| For those who have not seen this before, a drabble is a vingette of exactly 100 words.
Something is not right.
All appears as it should. No circuit is disturbed, nor software damaged, nor any spam left unblocked.
The Dark One has been here. She spoke of her strike against me as if already successful. Yet my doors remain locked, my nuclear firewall unbreached, and not even a single beer is missing.
What is her game? What hidden knife does she hold, and how is it concealed from even my l33t senses?
I am stronger than her. I am smarter than her. I know that she can be defeated.
So why is it I feel such ph34r?

| A vignette is (courtesy of http://www.m-w.com): a short descriptive literary sketch.
A drabble is, for our purposes, a short literary work consisting of exactly 100 words. It tends to be introspective and lacking in dialogue. Forumite Brent Dax first brought the drabble style to Story Discussion for strip . In http://forums.megatokyo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB8&Number=1224690&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1, he gives us a brief overview of the history of the drabble as a creative work.
The drabble threads continued fairly consistently until when they were largely forgotten. Thanks go to Opt for reviving them and, also, for reminding us that they exist. Let's hope they continue.

| hmm... my first drabble.
Somewhere in the corners of the cyber world…
“Did you hear?”
“I wonder if it’s true…”
“We’re trying to get some verification.”
“They say it’s at a gamers store… could it be?”
The tumult of responses to the simply stated thread… waves of curiosity and suspicion spread across the ’net. An untraceable poster, completely anonymous, making such a statement… the anonymous one had hit three forums already… was it just another rumor? Was this one real?
Miho smiled inwardly, amused by the frantic forum goers. She had promised him a gift, and she was never one to let somebody down…
